Gaetz responded, tweeting, “This racial justice warrior had no problem in Hollywood portraying the White Supremacist leader of a motorcycle gang.#SOA.” Gaetz was referencing Perlman’s stint as a racist biker in Sons of Anarchy, and considering Perlman’s recent tweets about Trump supporters supporting the murder of George Floyd, he’s got a point that the FX actor is a bigot. — Ron Perlman (@perlmutations) June 13, 2020 Perlman’s tweet drew a response from Gaetz hours later, sparking the beginning of Twitter feud between the pair on Sunday. Congratulations to those who had Texas Senator Ted Cruz, Florida congressman Matt Gaetz, and Hellboy star Ron Perlman on their Twitter feud bingo cards. Here's how it started: Last week, Gaetz. Ron Perlman reserved his “deepest sympathies” not for Limbaugh but for Lucifer in a tweet on Wednesday. The actor also used Limbaugh’s death to plug his 2004 movie Hellboy. “Me being Hellboy n shit, and having spent so much time in hades, I would like to extend my deepest sympathies to the poor devil who will no doubt have to spend the. Jun 15, 2020 “Sons of Anarchy” actor Perlman and Gaetz, a Florida Republican, clashed on Saturday after President Trump reweeted a Thursday tweet from Gaetz shading the U.S. Soccer Federation’s decision.
Times are strange. Just look around.
So it shouldn't be that much of a shock that Ted Cruz — a sitting U.S. senator — is doing his best to win a pissing match about wrestling with the actor who played Hellboy.
But still... it's pretty strange.
It all started with actor Ron Perlman tweeting out an insult of Ohio Republican Rep. Jim Jordan, basically calling him ugly.
Now, for those who need a refresher, here's a quick one. Jordan was a standout wrestler in college and went on to coach at Ohio State, where — according to allegations from a half dozen former wrestlers — he knew about, and ignored, a sexually abusive doctor at the university. Jordan denies he knew about the widespread abuse.
So anyway, when Perlman called Jordan ugly, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz jumped in to challenge the actor to wrestle the former NCAA champion .... for some reason.

Listen Hellboy. You talk good game when you’ve got Hollywood makeup & stuntmen. But I’ll bet $10k—to the nonpolitical charity of your choice—that you couldn’t last 5 min in the wrestling ring w/ @Jim_Jordan w/o getting pinned. You up for it? Or does your publicist say too risky? https://t.co/eRerYVe5kj

Perlman was quick to shoot back at Cruz, alluding to the allegations against Jordan related to former OSU physician Richard Strauss, who was found to have abused at least 177 wrestlers over multiple decades.
'I tell you what teddy boy, since mentioning jim jordan and wrestling is... problematic, why don’t we say fuck him and just make it you & me,' Perlman wrote on Twitter. 'I’ll give 50k to Black Lives Matter and you can keep all the tax payer money you were thinking of spending.'
He also reminded Cruz that the senator didn't exactly push back against President Donald Trump for cruelly insulting his loved ones.
Wait, is this THEE Ted Cruz? Holy shit man! Is this the same guy let little Donnie call his wife A dog and his father an assassin and now kisses his ass? Yo, can I get your autograph man? https://t.co/6QDwCaEkpv

Amid the global coronavirus pandemic — while representing a state with a record number of new cases — and widespread protests, Cruz seemingly felt it a good use of time to continue this internet spat with an actor.
'I get it, you’re rich. But, apparently, soft,' he wrote to Perlman. 'You sure seem scared to wrestle Jordan (whom you keep insulting). Can’t take the heat? Need to get a manicure?'
Predictably, the insults kept coming. Perlman didn't hold back.
'Teddy, Teddy, what kind of a muthafucka offers to have another guy, probably asleep at the time, kick another guy’s ass?' he posted to Twitter.
At the time of this writing, it appeared Cruz finally walked away from the weird fight and had not responded, but we'll update this post if he does.
Two of the dumbest Republican politicians ever, and that's saying something, tried to take down Trump critic and renowned actor Ron Perlman on Twitter.
It backfired magnificently.
And the Senator from Texas inserted the odious Jim Jordan into the Twitter spat.

Jordan, you will recall, is a former wrestling coach at Ohio State who has been implicated by many witnesses in knowingly remaining silent while his wrestling students were being sexually assaulted. Ted Cruz thought it was smart to namedrop Jordan as his gladiator. Really.
The fight started after US Soccer lifted the ban on players kneeling during the national anthem.
The US Soccer team called and you guessed it... said they couldn’t give any less of a fuck about what you two dipshits think. @realDonaldTrump@mattgaetz

And while we’re at it fuckboi, what is this shit about playing your crowd with dog whistles like “Hollywood“, making them think culture is the thing that’s keeping them down? When it’s really you and your greed.

Then Perlman threw the nastiest douche bag of all Congressmen into the picture: Jim Jordan.
PS: You’re lucky for this guy Matt. If it weren’t for him you’d be the ugliest politician walking. @mattgaetzpic.twitter.com/uUgUDKHgZA

This scuffle somehow made Sen. Ted Cruz so mad that he challenged the now 70-year-old Ron Perlman to a fight -- with Jim Jordan.

For what it's worth, Trump is now a role model for Republican Senators? They certainly mimic his awful behavior on Twitter.

By the way, Ron Perlman at 70 years old is 6' 1' and fourteen years older than Rep. Jordan, but I'd bet on the actor all day, every day.

I can guarantee you one thing. If @perlmutations was a wrestling coach at Ohio State, he wouldn't have turned a blind eye to the sexual assaults going on against his students. https://t.co/hiPBQOf5rO
